The French fashion designers have contributed phenomenally towards the fashion industry. Pierre Cardin:

Chanel’s association with fashion started as seamstress during the days of her childhood. Yves Saint Laurent:

Yves Saint Laurent was born and brought up in Algeria but he moved to France during his late teens in order to pursue fashion and art. In initial stages he worked under Christian Dior and later on due to untimely death of Dior he became the art director in the film. Eventually he launched his own line of fashion clothing which included the innovative creations like smoking suit, iconic jumpsuit and see through blouses. With the passage of time he rise to the ladder of success and became as one of the best fashion designers all over the globe.

Hermes:

Hermes is better known as the grand daddy of all French fashion and luxury labels. It is undoubtedly the household name in France. Initially Hermes was into the business of manufacturing horse saddles and harnesses. Over a period of time he established a good hold in wide range of business like world fashion, designer boutiques, handbags, shoes, home décor, fashion jewellery and fragrances. The revolutionary concept of zipper to France which became rage all over the country was also introduced by Hermes. At present Hermes has a long list of celebrity and elite clientele including Nicole Kidman, Madonna, Elle Macpherson and others.

Christian Lacroix:

Christian Lacroix is a name which can be associated with the new age of French designers who have gained a big name in the fashion industry. The credit for entering and reviving the industry of Haute Couture during the times when other fashion streams were there to overpower the supremacy goes to Lacroix. He is also known for his exotic range of designer clothing and his puffball skirt creation is a very famous among the Hollywood celebrities like Nicole Kidman and Christina Aguilera.
